AI changes how work gets done, how decisions get made, and how risks are managed. If you try to “bolt on” AI to yesterday’s workflows, you get predictable outcomes: stalled pilots, inconsistent results, unclear accountability, and growing compliance anxiety.

Use this blueprint as your target design.

A) Strategy-to-value alignment

Start with outcomes, not features. For each AI capability (copilot, agent, automation, analytics), define:

  • Primary business outcome (one KPI only)

  • Baseline (current performance)

  • Target delta (improvement goal)

  • Measurement cadence (weekly if possible)

  • Guardrails (quality, safety, compliance, customer impact)

If you cannot define a KPI and cadence, do not scale it. Keep it in discovery.
